The University of Crete has welcomed 20 new postgraduate students for the Spring Semester of 2025, with a special orientation event held on February 14th at the University’s Senate Hall. During the event, several key figures gave speeches, including the Vice-Rector for Development, International Relations, and Outreach, Professor Melina Tamiolaki, and the Scientific Director of the joint master’s program, Professor Anastasios Matsopoulos. Students were introduced to the university’s facilities and services through a video, followed by presentations on the counseling center services from psychologists Irini Barouxi and Mina Tsikritsaki, as well as a briefing by Cleopatra Paterogiannaki on the services of the Welcome Office. Anastasios Matsopoulos highlighted the philosophy of the program and provided details on the curriculum. Professors Anastasia Psaltis, Christiana Evlogia-Perakis, and Irini Adamopoulou presented the courses that would be offered during the Spring Semester. An engaging activity, “Listening Circles,” allowed students to share personal insights about their studies and countries of origin. The event concluded with a short campus tour and a lunch buffet at the VIP area of the university restaurant.
