Nine students from the Master in Resilience in Educational Contexts Masters programme visited the Villa Frere Gardens in Pietà, Malta — a place where history, nature, and resilience intertwine.
Led by curator Fernando Mifsud, the group enjoyed a guided tour of the gardens, learning about their remarkable transformation. Once neglected and forgotten, Villa Frere gardens have been lovingly restored through the tireless efforts of volunteers who recognised its cultural and historical significance.
The visit offered students a tangible example of how collective action and dedication can revive spaces and communities — a perfect reflection of the values underpinning their studies.
This experience marks a wonderful beginning to their journey in Malta, immersing them in local culture, heritage, and the beauty of resilience in action.
